About

Meet Heather

WHY I DO THIS WORK?

When I was 12, I decided I no longer wanted to be the chubby, uncoordinated kid who got picked last for every sports team. At the time, it was mostly about vanity and fitting in. I thought if I looked like the “cool kids,” I’d become one of them.

And in a way, I did. Not just by changing my body, but by shifting my identity.

I started waking up early to work out. I stopped eating foods I thought were “bad.” I was eating less, moving more, and chasing quick results. In high school, it was Scarsdale. In my 30s and 40s, it was Fit for Life, low-carb everything, and Bikini Boot Camp by Danette May. I took pieces from each, but nothing ever really stuck until I started doing things my way.

Looking back, I see that my approach was more about restriction than nourishment. It wasn’t perfect, but it planted a seed. Who you believe you are shapes what you do. Real, lasting change doesn’t come from someone else’s rules. It comes from building a lifestyle around who you want to become.

The real turning point came when people I loved began to get sick. Friends. Family. Watching their health decline made me realize something. Being thin wasn’t the goal. Being resilient was. I didn’t want to just look fit. I wanted to be strong enough to fight, in case illness ever came for me or someone I love.

That’s when I went back to school. I dove into nutrition, hormones, and sustainable lifestyle change. Now I help women 40+ make their own identity shift. From frustrated and fatigued to strong, capable, and clear on what actually works. Because once you see yourself as someone who takes care of your body, you start living like her.

And that changes everything.

Who I Am

I’m a Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Women’s Health Educator with a deep belief in personalized care. My work is grounded in the belief that midlife is not a decline. It’s a transition. And with the right strategies, it can be a powerful one.

I hold a BA in Sociology from Queen’s University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Recreation Leadership from Humber College. I earned my Certificate in Applied Holistic Nutrition and designation as a Certified Nutritional Practitioner from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. I’m also trained in Change Psychology and Coaching Dietary Strategies with Intermittent Fasting from Precision Nutrition and hold a Hormone Harmony Certification through Brett Hawes’s Holistic Health Masterclass.

I am part of the team at June Health, a specialized care platform connecting women to qualified women's health experts for consultation, diagnosis and treatment.  I serve as one of the Health and Wellness Hosts for Spaces Collingwood,  I’m proud to be a member of the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners and I sit on the Granting and Events Committees for the Craigleith Cares Foundation.

Alongside running my own business, I’ve been invited to speak for organizations such as Coast Capital Savings, Financiet, Brown & Brown’s Power of She, Bank of Montreal, CSPN, LifeWorks, and the PROBUS Club of Blue Mountain.

The Unfiltered Me

I’m married to my "last blind date", and I’m the proud mom of two adult daughters.

My Yorkie, Mia, is my “best girl,” though my daughters would argue otherwise.

I lived in Sweden between the ages of 6 and 8 and spoke fluent Swedish. I don’t remember a word of it now.

At 29, I gave up my job and moved to France to learn French. I really do love kale but give me a chilled glass of Chablis and I’m really happy.

My favorite trip so far was to Africa.

I’m learning tennis and just took up cycling.

People call me “Honest Heather” because I speak from the heart, even when it’s uncomfortable.   I also get called “The Shark” because I don’t sit still for long. I like to think of it as equal parts truth-teller and go-getter.
